If you haven't already, you should read Terry van Feleday's analysis on the Bayverse trilogy. I became completely disillusioned somewhere around halfway and I love it.

Wow... This is quite an analysis. I heaven't read all of it yet, I just gotten to Dark of The Moon, but it is quite interesting. And has certainly given me a new appreciation for certain elements of the movies, like Megatron. But I'm not quite sure I can buy that everything explained here was intentional on the part of the film makers.
I will always have a sort of appreciation for the films for bringing new life into the franchise, but I still can't really enjoy them. Maybe that was actually the point, if that analysis is correct, but I still wish we had gotten genuinely good movies. Well, maybe Age of Extinction will be good.......

You're right, no matter how the analysis makes me think about the movies and changes my perception, I really just wish we'd gotten a film that wasn't so metaphoric.
Basically, I want a Transformers film to act like a Transformers film, not a political essay.
PS – My favorite part of that entire thing are the Carly/Mearing/Alice thoughts.
